If it would let you associate a FB contact with an Outlook contact, or vice-versa, even if the names are slightly different (i.e., no middle name, periods after initials, etc) it would be a perfect program!

You just have to make sure that you're logged in into facebook in IE or re-login to facebook using IE. After you get an error in IE. Don't close the application, just re-login and wait! Then you will see it works just fine!

It is weird that you have to wait but it did solve the problem for me.

So. I'd suspect this is a problem caused by facebook's ever-changing policies and code. Since OutSync's not supported and support through facebook is a nightmarish prospect, I've abandoned OutSync. And support of Outlook 2010 isn't a cost-effective proposition.

OutSync worked pretty well until just today. Anyone else having an error which says, "None of your Facebook friends could be matched with your Outlook contacts"? This is goofy behavior because nothing was changed I know about. I've 'repaired' the program and tried various combinations of having facebook and/or Outlook 2010 open or closed. Also deleted and replaced the OutSync permissions in facbook.

Hey,

I have Win7 x64 machine, and I installed outlook 2010 x86 due to bugs in office 2010 x64.

I couldn't run OutSync because it is compiled as "Any CPU". Meaning that if I run it on my machine it will run as x64, but it will fail to attach Outlook because it is x86.

What I had to do is to recompile OutSync as x86, and that solved the issue. So you must have 2 versions of OutSync - x64 & x86.

Hello

I have accounts in outlook where I use the name of the husband, and his wife got a facebook account. I would be interrested to sync based on the email adress only.

Also some users invert their first and last name, and OutSync doesn't sync them.

I'm using OutSync on a win7 x64 with outlook 2010 x86.

I just installed on Win7 Pro and I get the screen that prompts me for Facebook login info. I enter it and then click continue. I get an error that simplay states "Invalid Parameter". Click OK and the app closes. Any ideas?

When I click on the MSI installer, I get this error:

This application requires the .NET framework v3.5 or higher. Visit [link to microsoft] to get it.

Then, I get a "setup ended prematurely" message. A quick check in the control panel shows I have .NET 4 installed on this computer. It's a work computer and I have administrative permissions, with a few limitations. I'm running XP Professional and Outlook 2003 Professional, and I've tried the install both with Outlook running and with it closed. I'm not sure what else to look at to troubleshoot this. Any help you can offer would be much appreciated!

New Post: Outsync has stopped working

Until today, I have had no problems with Outsync. In fact, I love this program!!

Suddenly I am not able to even open the program. I get the following message:

"Outsync has stopped working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available"

I use outlook 2007, Vista, and the latest version of Outsync (I had uninstalled & reinstalled but that didn't help). I also have outlook open when I am trying to open Outsync.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Looks like I need to add some debug logging, so we know what the error is. :)

The source is available for anyone that wants to add it to see what error is being generated at this moment. When I have a break at work, I'll add it in.
